Inlet's Premiere of "Caliban Ascendant" at Cain Park with Cleveland Chamber Collective

The Cleveland Chamber Collective is committed to the idea that great music can have a great impact. Their mission is to enrich, ennoble, and encourage the diverse people of our community by providing exceptional artistic experiences to all. They seek out new and innovative ways to engage our community.

Caliban Ascendant is a chamber work for players and dancers, inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Shakespeare’s play is filled with intrigue and vengeance, but also touches on the themes of colonization, oppression, and cultural appropriation. This work utilizes a string trio, flute and piano and a large battery or percussion. The music is cast utilizing a variety of style and colors to create characters and describe actions.
