Madison, the first black recipient of an architecture degree in Ohio is also the founder of the first black-owned architecture firm in the state – Robert P. Madison International. Madison was born in Cleveland, earned his degree at Western Reserve University and went on to study at Harvard University and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Parking is available in the lot behind the museum. Cyclists may park their bikes at racks near the main entrance. Drivers may park facing the garage. A designated handicapped parking space is located near the ADA ramp and entrance. If the lot is full, visitors may park on the north side of South Park Blvd (opposite the museum).
