This program contains digital restorations of seven surreal/fantastical short films.
USA/France, 1962-95, David Lynch, Chris Marker
The first six are by David Lynch (most were made before his 1977 debut feature Eraserhead) and the last, La Jetée, is by France’s Chris Marker. La Jetée (aka The Pier or The Jetty) is one of the greatest short films in cinema history and inspired Terry Gilliam’s 12 Monkeys (see 2/26).
