In 1996, Stephanie Hanson Caisse discovered her birth father had been killed in action, while serving in the Marines in the Vietnam War, two months before she was born. He never knew he was about to have a child. He was a member of the HMM-364 Purple Foxes Squadron. Adopted at birth, Caisse grew up never knowing who her birth parents were. However, at the age of 26, she was forced to find her birth family when she was diagnosed with a congenital illness. The story she uncovered is amazing, and has changed her life, as well as the lives of many others.
Her journey also followed the HMM-364 Purple Foxes Squadron to Iraq, as a new generation of Marines, like Capt. Jennifer Harris, went to war. The story includes a stunning twist of fate that ties the Vietnam and Iraq wars together like never before.
Come hear about this incredible journey, learn of the local Northeast Ohio connection, and see the exhibit honoring Capt. Jennifer Harris.
