Clyde's at Karamu House
Clyde’s, written by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and directed by Treva Offutt, tells the story of ex-cons-turned-sandwich-makers. Clyde’s is a biting comedy about people trapped in a transitional time period.
A truck stop sandwich shop offers its formerly incarcerated kitchen staff a shot at redemption. Even as the shop’s callous owner tries to keep them under her thumb, the staff members are given purpose and permission to dream by their shared quest to create the perfect sandwich. Clyde’s was first produced on Broadway in 2021/22.
