Black Buckeyes: Tale of Two Cities addresses critical issues that many American cities face. From the shores of the Ohio River, the literal gateway to the North, to the vast expanse of Lake Erie facing Canada, this short documentary will look closely at these two urban poles of Ohio by taking a deep dive into the history that leads to the current living conditions of African Americans. Through personal and candid interviews, archival footage, and beautifully filmed images of the landscapes of both the progress and the blight of Cincinnati and Cleveland we will try to unravel the ways in which opportunities for the African American community in one city thrives, while in the other, stagnates.
