The Full Stack Web Developer reports to the Director of Interactive Media. This position holds a critical role at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and will be building solutions with a focus towards web, mobile, exhibits, and internal systems. The Full Stack Web Developer will be responsible for planning, development, testing, ongoing support, sustainability, and documentation of applications and websites. The ideal candidate will have experience with a diverse set of development platforms and programming languages, including experience with back-end, front-end (UX design) experience, API’s, experience employing best practices for coding conventions and usability, and experience using and troubleshooting common back-end application databases. The Full Stack Web Developer will take projects from idea to completion with minimal guidance. Wireframing ideas and working with other departments to solidify solutions. Ability to take critique and test and iterate on designs.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary developer for rockhall.com and other Rock Hall web applications for both internal and external usage. Evolving our infrastructure needs to keep pace and be leader in the digital technology space. Continuous re-evaluating of new and existing systems. Adhering to section 508 compliance for accessibility. Maintaining, and updating web servers and CMS systems. Creating, Managing, and automating backups of databases
Collaborating with other departments identifying pain points in their day to day tasks and developing internal web-based tools to automate, or simplify, common internal needs.
Research and recommend new technologies and methodologies with a specific eye towards sustainability of solutions

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATOINS:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information studies, information technology, or related degree - or -
demonstrated comparable technical knowledge and success via work experience and/or technical certification tracks.
A minimum of 5 years developing, implementing, and supporting software solutions in an enterprise environment.
Experience working on diverse team-based software development projects.
Experience with agile development methodologies.
Strong understanding and real-world experience with NodeJS, PHP, Python, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript, JQuery, API’s, MySQL and DynamoDB.
Experience working with varied vendor APIs, XML, JSON, REST and SOAP services.
Demonstrated experience with AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, EC2, API Gateway).
Data and information architecture knowledge and experience.
Experience with Linux distributions and a variety of server stacks.
Experience with implementing/managing CMS platforms such as Drupal.
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with expierence.

 

WORK SCHEDULE: Ability to work up to 40 hours per week; any shift as assigned, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Ability to work additional hours as workload demands.
