Hello!

My college degree from KSU is in Art History and Studio Art.  Recent career experiences include over a decade of teaching artist roles, working with many different age groups and in a variety of settings, at The Beck Center, MOCA and The Transformer Station. I have a broad range of knowledge in many art forms including those outside my personal practices including pottery, print making and more.  At Beck, I also managed the visual art department and the main gallery space including curating and event planning. At Transformer Station, I was selected to create an educational program centered on Visual Literacy using iPods as art making tools.

In recent years, I’ve moved into full time cake decorating, an applied art! I’ve also been fortunate to be invited to show my “non cake” artwork at several invitational exhibitions during the past decade.  I’ve even won a few awards at juried shows over the years! And, I continue to push my fine art practice forward outside of my cake decorating work. I enjoy working in photography, painting, drawing, mixed media. Most recently, I was an invited participant in Waterloo Arts DayGloSho and two of my paintings were accepted to this year’s BAYArts juried exhibition.
