Making something that matters to someone is the pinnacle of being an artist, designer, craftsman.  Being at the point of ultimate loss with a product that seeks to soften the blow, if only in the smallest way, is a staggering honor that routinely takes Chris Harvan’s breath away.

Finding his niche as a Death Care Designer was a multi-decade adventure involving a solid foundation from art school, a career as a timber framer, a custom furniture business, too many other woodworking adventures to mention, and a whole other career as a web developer.

He and his artist and art teacher wife Shelley Harvan started Memento Memorials after having collaborated on memorials for friends and family.  In 2012 they officially incorporated and have bootstrapped themselves into the industry through trade shows and two well-received cremation urn lines.

Their belief that remembrance deserves art, design, and craft manifests itself in those products.
