At Kent State and Cleveland State Universities and Cuyahoga Community College I studied drawing and painting. I have participated in drawing and painting workshops, exhibitions and seminars throughout the United States. I am listed in “Who’s Who in Black Cleveland”and in “Still We Rise.” ( The story of African-American Artists, 1920 – 1970).

In Pittsburgh I was blessed to help break the color barrier by the Scripps- Howard publishing organization; publishers of a network of news outlets and newspapers. ie; AP (Associated Press, The Cleveland Press, The Pittsburgh Press, etc.).
In Southern California, I co-founded the San Diego Portrait Societywith Perrietta Hester. I’ve been a member of the Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild and The La Jolla Art Association. I studied drawing and painting at the La Jolla Athenaeum and painted with the Master painter, Don Sebastian Capella
Today, I paint in my studio near Shaker Square, where I live with my bride, Betty K Pinkney
