Brittney Callahan

My artwork relates to self-construction, how identities and personalities are formed, how they manifest and shift, and the characterization of “self”. Through exploring my mental pathology, I connected the development of my core beliefs to Hollywood’s curated portrayal of life. With my current work, I utilizes the techniques of cinema and theater to construct a fictitious reality that emulates the surface of Hollywood and the storytellers who inspired unrealistic expectations of life, people, and opportunity.
